HPA Axis Dysfunction 101: An Introduction

HPA Axis Dysfunction 101: An Introduction

August 4, 2021
R.W. Watkins
MD, MPH, FAAFP
Class Description

In this live class, Dr. Watkins will discuss the role the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis plays in a wide variety of health concerns that can severely impact quality-of-life including insomnia, anxiety, depression, memory loss, fatigue, and weight gain to name a few. He will share why it is vitally important to assess the HPA axis when addressing these conditions.

Dr. Watkins will explain how non-invasive urinary neurotransmitter and salivary cortisol assessments correlate with these clinical complaints and can be used to better understand the imbalances underlying these conditions. The validity of these specimen types will be addressed, and Dr. Watkins will share a case study and his vast experience utilizing HPA assessments in his own practice.
