Class Description

In this live class, Dr. Aristo Vojdani of Cyrex Laboratories will discuss measuring immunity by flow cytometry to help identify a patient’s immune status and immunotype and will be touching on the following learning points:

  1. Define immunotypes based on quantification of lymphocyte subsets
  2. Describe the process of flow cytometry, which is used to quantify lymphocyte subsets
  3. Categorize the patterns of patients’ immune status based on their immunotypes
  4. Interpret the pattern of lymphocyte subsets in the blood that correlates with autoimmune disease, neurodegenerative disorders, immune deficiencies, allergies and hypersensitivities
  5. Tailor personalized treatments and follow their prognosis based on favorable changes in their immunotype.

The Lymphocyte Map™ by Cyrex ™ measures the integrity of the immune system at the cellular level to help identify a patient’s immune status and immunotype, based on 29 key biomarkers. It utilizes an advanced flow cytometry method, which combines cutting-edge laser technology with monoclonal antibodies, to precisely measure the properties of living cells such as size, shape, density and granularity. This results in a highly accurate count of various lymphocyte subpopulations.

This helps identify patterns of imbalance of T cells, B cells and natural killer cells. It then organizes these patterns into specific immunotypes to provide an invaluable picture of the immune system.
